Deepvali - The Festival of Lights Empty Deepvali - The Festival of Lights

Colors and lights of all shapes and dimensions blanket the crystal forest. The trees glimmer in reflected light and a light almost from within themselves. Greens, royal blues, maginificent reds and clear crystals spit out rainbows as if the air was liquid light. Beyond the shimmering light sounds of merriment and laughter can clearly be heard, echoing among the trees and causing them to shiver as well. Each tree turned into a tuning fork of sorts so that each bit of laughter from the people turned one tree into a conduit of shimmering laughter.

In the center of the forest there is an old tree, much older than the trees attuned to the reveller's laughter. The singing is heard from the base of this tree along with the laughter of many happy people and jolly conversations. This magnificent tree, known as Hariki to all the merry-makers, is the center of the forest and the cause of the festival. Every 1000 years this tree glows with an inner light in commemoration of the creation of N'jinn and the peace it brought Fir.

The orbs released earlier fly around Hariki and add to its light, the air dancing with wonderous rainbows that only add to the intense beauty and peacefulness of the scene. Wonderful smells of roasting meats and vegetables fill the air as the cooks turn the spits over great fires and finish the very last of the feast. Giant tables have been placed all around the tree and are being prepared to hold the tremendous amounts of food that have been prepared.

Singers and dancers run around the base of the tree and perform in spots claimed earlier as people shuffle by to soak in the hot springs and take in the healing effects of its sacred water. Near the lake there is a sparkling stone of crystal waiting the reappearance of Ric'c with his special addition to the celebration.

Sits nearby "Hariki", legs crossed and leaning back against the tree itself, taking in the wonderous sight of the festival. She had never seen anything like this in all her travels. From the lights and colors, to the excited people dancing and laughing, to the rainbows created by the crystals, it was a beautiful sight indeed. As the celebration continued around her, she took a sip from the glass of ale she held and glanced upward at the tree she lay against, smiling to herself and breathing a small sigh.

He was traveling along and hear alot of noise and a bunch of wonderous lights. He had never seen anything like it in all his life. He was overtaken by it. He walked in among everyone. He then seen everyone around a huge tree. He walked in that directions, knowing that he might stick out with his hight, but he just wanted to see.

The lights upon the tree lightened and offered more rainbows as Taldeer smiled up at it as if thanking her for coming. A chef came up to offer her some food to go along with her ale as a small girl sat beside her, tired from the game of chase she had been participating in.

The merrymakers seemed to pay Rand's height no attention at all although many of the small children darted around him laughing and smiling. Some of the chefs offered him food and the dancers moved around him as if he were no obstacle at all.

Her eye's glimmered brightly as the number of lights visably increased, the reflection of the rainbows shining off her irisis while she watched in wonder. She lowerd her gaze to the chef, taking a small treat from his serving plate and gave a polite "Thank you". She turned her head to the second presence beside her curiously and spoke. "Hello there, exhausted already?" she said in a humorous tone, her mouth curved into a smirk.

The chefs took all of the thanks and returned it with humble answers. The dancers played louder than before as the merry-making continued. The little girl next to the Seer smiled at her and answered cheerfully, "Nope!" as she scampered off and passed the young anthromorph at his meal as she went back to her game of chase.

A small tawny kitten jumped up onto the table beside the other anthromorph and mewed at him before it started to eat a little of the food on a plate next to him. The little girl came running back shrieking as the other boy chased her as it was her turn to be chased. The music only grew louder as the people celebrated. The dances grew more outrageous and fast-paced as they played.

The kitten curled around in his grip, enjoying the pet before it shifted into a pretty girl a little older than him. She winked at him and said, "Thanks cutie." before going off and joining in the game of chase with the younger children.

he nearly chokes in shock as the girls runs off to play with the others, he stands there coughing, wondering how he didn't notice the scent of a fellow anthromorph, then relising the food was covering up the smell

Enticing smells came from the dishes that were laid out on the tables. Meats, stews, breads, fruits, and desserts were all laid out before everyone. The music stopped in awe of the feast laid out. There was seemingly miles of food laid out for everyone! People nearly climbed over each other to get a seat at the tables as the main dishes started to arrive. Children bubbled with excitement as their favorite dishes were introduced and elderly people murmured in appreciation of the feast.

With the smell of the delicious food reaching her, she took it as her que to stand and get a seat at the feasting tables before things got out of hand. 'Seems the people of Fir are going all out this year' she thought, 'Well, I for one dont intend to let things go to waste'. With a sheepish smile on her face, she made her way through the building crowd of people a found an open seat at one of the center tables.

Vash had come along to this festival with her family even though she had no interest in it this year, nor any year after she had lost her sight. She walked took the seat offered to her by her mother and awaited the inevitable conversations that would come up. Hearing the normal scurrieing of people to tables, and pushing and shoving. Nothing of entertainment but it worked. She went to play with one of her utensials and was scolded by her mother. "A young man doesn't play with his food or his spoon" bah, she thought. She knew she was a girl but always being called a boy. enoguh to say she was used to it. "sorry mother" Was her reply as she put her spoon.

The anthromorph that had been pet by Blank earlier sat across from Vash and smiled softly at the girl before sending her mother a glare for her command in regard to the silverware. She could tell she wouldn't be able to see any of this, but she did it for the benefit of the girl's mother instead.

Once the tables were set and all the food was laid out a quiet began to draw over the people. Eyes turned towards the magnificent crystal throne near the healing springs. Where was Ric'c? He was supposed to have been back by now. Some of the supervisors looked at each other nervously as they quietly debated what to do.

Vash's mother noticed the glare, taken aback slightly by it. She simply ignored it.
Vash was sitting straigh waiting for the speech to begin. Her mother tapped her shoulder and gave her the previously discussed signlas in taps on her shoulder to tell her what direction to look in. Since they always sat somewhere different it helped to minimise embarrassment. To who vash didn't really know. Her father on the other hand completely ignored them talking to one of the other occupants of the table about hunting befor quieting down.
The silence put vash on edge. She hated silence at least with noise she knew what was happening.

a man and a wolf sat far away from the table, they prefered to sit alone, though in the silence the tension grew, so he desided to do something, taking out his flute he began to play a beautiful melody to help some people calm down

Slightly annoyed that she was being prevented from enjoying the feast by some king who was neglecting his own festival, she huffed and began drumming her fingers on the table with one hand and rested her head on the other. 'Any time now would be nice.....' she thought while looking around at the other tables and taking her own glance at the crystal throne. Everyone seemed to be waiting patiently but she could practically feel the anticipation rolling off the people in waves...and worst yet, it seemed even supervisors had no idea where the king could be.
