The Ultimate Decision!

*Dema walks to the pass and sees the gate, Akira pokes his head out* So this is Neffers pass huh?

Nodding to the fox, Demazee passes through the gate, and into the dangerous and unstable Territory known as The Rift.

"So, where do you come from exactly?" asked Akira.

"Where? A different realm, quite a bit different from this one." The cloaked figure trodges on, arm sheilding her eyes to the blinding wind found in the Pass.

"That is quite interesting, Dema-chan"

As the two companions trod onward, Demazee continues. "A long time ago, it was peaceful. But a mineral exists there, called Chaos, which is prime material for weapons crafting. it is stronger than steel by far, and can hold a magical charge the likes that crystals cant match. Over time, it became a sign of power, and small skirmishes broke out over who has rights to what area. Those skirmishes evolved into wars, and the wars evolved into a genocide. I am all thats left of that world. Only ruins and charred earth remains. Nothing will ever grow there again."

"That is so sad. Do you miss your old world?"

"Yes, occasionally. The times that i go back to mine Chaos, for instance. Or whenever i come across a flower that reminds me of one of the ones that used to cover fields there"

"I'm so sorry." Akira looked down.

Demazee laughs "Dont worry about it. Everything happens for a reason, and every action begets a reaction. The people of my old world grew greedy, and the whole world paid the price. But nothing is without its merits. Ive vowed to travel to other dimensions and ensure that the same thing doesnt happen again."

"Well I hope your misson is a successful one."

"That i hope" Demazee stops in mid sentence. "Akira, what would the payment be to wish that whatever world i reside in never to fall into chaos?"

*Thinks deeply* "You would never be able to return to your home world. That is what your payment would be."

Demazee sighs. *Then i have no choice but to refuse. It would mean that i wouldnot be able to practice my trade."

"but maybe this time, I could let it slide....."

"but, what would happen? You said it yourself, every wish has its price"

"Well, I could transfer the payment..."

"But who would be willing to get flung from their home here?"

"....me"

"Y-you?!" Demazee looks down at the fox in her arms in shock, nearly running into a long dead tree

"My superiors are probabley mad at me for screwing up the wish so, I doubt they ever let me return...."

"You dont mean, my wish? The one for that girl?"

"Yes, the payment never will happen so they are probabley really mad."

Demazee looks down "Sorry"

"No, I'm sorry I should have never mentioned it." Sunddenly, the sound of evil laughter came through the air.
