After Ric'c had not appeared after ten minutes or so the supervisors sighed. They couldn't hold the feast from the people any longer. Not only was it rude but they knew all these people were hungry. The main supervisor headed to the front of the table and after a nervous cough and smile at the people he said, "I am sorry for the delay. We will just have to begin the feast without him. He will just have to grace us with an apology speech mixed with his speech prepared for now later, won't he?" he tried a small smile at his attempt at a joke then coughed when he only recieved murmurs in answer. Stepping away from the table he bowed and made a motion for them to all begin eaing and enjoy themselves.

Vash just shrugged at this new encounter, not noticing the motion. The speeches where boreing every year anyway. She turned to her plate and picked up her silverware again, only to have her hand thwacked away by her mother... -gah- ...she thought. -of course-..- she had to wait for her mother to serve her-. She would have to hunt and do all her errends but she can't be trusted to get her own food. Granted she did not know exactly where everything was and grabing randomly would not seem very gentlemenly. with a sigh and a small wince she rubbed her hand and just sat straight stareing dead ahead, emotionless expression on her face. Her mother was silent this time. Not to uncommon, Vash heard the rustle of plates, and silverware clashing as people began to eat and serve themselves. Both her parents served themselves first then her. Her father waited for her mother and the other ladies at the table to serve first, befor himself and herself, Her mother serving her whatever food was avaliable not asking what she would like.

The noise was comforting, though vaguely annoying, after all was done she still had her meal infront of her, and no idea what it was. Hopefully her mother wouldn't serve her something horrid like last year. She gagged slightly thinking about the stuffed eel but covered it up with a cough quickly. Gaining a strange look from both her parents. Her father went back to ignoreing her, talking to the others at two next to him between moutfuls of bread soaked in stew and veggies.

The young anthromorph still seated on the other side of Vash watched her mother serve her, yes, it was a her based on the smell she could just vaguely catch... Looking up from her own effort to serve herself she slipped a few good things onto Vash's plate when her mother wasn't looking. When her own plate and Vash's were full she waited until Vash's mother was occupied before striking up a conversation with Vash. Since she could tell that Vash had some sort of sight problem based on how her parents were treating her she decided to take it upon herself to give her some help, rather than be a hinderance like her parents were being.

"Hello!" she said brightly to Vash, acting out of her own character to seem like just a cheerful person so her mother wouldn't be suspicious, "Wow, you certainly got all the good stuff!" she told Vash as if in appreciation, "Roast meats, sweet potatoes, green beans, some of those dinner rolls with that honey glaze the chef's have been boasting about lately.... Looks like you know what you want!" She smiled disarmingly and tried to hold back on some of her natural flirtation.

Vash's mother had struck up conversation with one of the other women at the table, aparently appreciateing and guessing about the varioue meats and how they where cooked. boreing as normal, Vash was caught off guard when she heard the young anthro turning her head to face the direction of the voice though she kept her eyes closed, she had made scared enough people befor with her pupiless eyes to know better. "Hello" she replied in surprise, giving a small smile to the voice. "Yea, definately", she smiled more, glad for once she had something she would be able to eat. She wasn't really used to conversation and was obviously nervous to the anthro but not to anyone else, She did well in hideing most signs.
"And what of yourself?, you must know too" she tried to keep conversation going. Vash tried to lock onto the scents of the food layed out but failed to be able to untagle them to pinpoint what the girl had gotten.

Laughing a little at that she smiled, "Well, I've got... sweet potatoes, some of the rolls, fish, and a bit of salad."

"Sounds good." Vash picked up her fork and placed it on the plate, still holding one end up. Though she didn't move it after putting it down she did so to test where each item was."Are you enjoying the festival?" she said, all that she could really think of at the time.

Taldeer began fixing her plate with a few of the roasted meats and dinner rolls nearby but couldent quite reach anything else thanks to her seat. She attempted to ask a few of the others nearby but they either couldent hear her or outright ignored her. Frowning a bit, she decided it wouldent hurt to try to pull something over through all the grabbing hands as she reach out and over the table towards the plate of sweet potato's, bumping into other grabing hands as she went.
