Deal Gone Wrong

A deep male voice answered, "Names are not needed.... What is it you want." Aza shivered as she held him up.

"I just wish to know the reason and conditions of my new life."

"Very well." the man in the seat did not turn around to face them as he laid out the terms of the agreement. "You are not to seek any terms of employment for your abilities, nor are you to seek employment in any range of the underworld of this world. You may continue to grant small wishes of passersbys and innocents. Healing is also allowed, but you are not to grant wishes of money or power. If you do... we will know."

"I am afraid can not honor that. I am forced to gant any wish that is presented to me no matter who that person may be. It is the terms that the concial cursed me with to save my world."

A faint tapping was heard, almost as if the boss was thinking this over. "...Then we'll make sure you aren't ever put in a situation where you have to grant a harmful wish again."

"and this braclet means I belong to you?"

"It's not removable." was the only answer he recieved.

"I thought you could remove it if you wanted to!" getting a little exciteable, seeing his freedom slip away.

"If you want." he answered vaguely, "I have to consent though, and I want you under my protection. Ask Aza, I'm the fairest in this city."

Akira slowly turned to aza.

When he looked at her she nodded just a little, too freaked out from everything that had happened to give a very good answer.

"Then I guess I am under your protection then..."

The boss never once turned around during all of this, "You have my word that I will never bother you, this is srictly for your own protection. Isn't that right Aza?" Jumping at her name she nodded again. "You may both leave now."

Akira nodded to Aza and they left with Akira still leaning on you. "Lets go back to the infirmarey..."

"Okay..." she said quietly and helped him down there.

With aza'a help, Akira gets into the bed and laid facing aza. "I am sorry I put you through that. I could sense your uncomfort."

She shook her head, denying her discomfort as she knelt down near the bed and watched over him.

"I am sorry for upsetting you too. The braclet just came as a shock I guess..."

She shook her head as she held him gently, "It's my fault... all of it... I'm sorry..." her voice and body was shaking as she tried to make up for what she felt was her short coming in protecting him.

Akira could not think of any words to help heal her so, he stayed quiet and held her close and closed his eyes.

Holding him close she didn't cry but it seemed almost as if she was close to it. After a while she fell asleep curled into his side.

Akira could not sleep. He stared out the window into the sky, wishing he was home in the stars.

By the time she anaged to wake it was with tears in her eyes.

"did you sleep well aza?"

She shrugged and looked up at him.
